TANF Christmas Party 2013

This year, TANF was able to host its first Christmas celebration for the students of Wisdom Academy. This time of year is often filled with gifts, special food, and spending time with family. However, many students don’t have the resources or ability to share in this festive time of year. This year, we wanted to give all of the students, including our sponsored kids, the chance to experience the joy of this season while sharing with volunteers and teachers.

On the morning of Christmas Eve, students, teachers, and volunteers all came together to celebrate in style! Two of our volunteers, Christabel and Jason from Singapore, donated Santa hats and candy for the kids, which they loved! There were balloons, relay games, and music for dancing. The youngest students took center stage as two of the boys danced for hours, moving in sync to the beat and never wavering! We all enjoyed the entertainment provided by the live DJ, while the older students performed a special choreographed dance to one of their favorite songs.

Over 100 people came to the party, wishing each other Merry Christmas and having fun during this special time of celebration. The students handed out homemade Christmas cards they made for their teachers, with a special thank-you note inside, and showed their appreciation for all of the teachers’ hard work during the year. It was great to see everyone involved interacting outside of the classroom and making new memories. We hope to continue this special tradition of celebration next year! click here for more pictures
