As part of our health care program here in Ghana we received two Danish volunteers, Sofie and Jonas. They both landed in Ghana on the same day and during their volunteering in the health sector they teamed up with some other volunteers from other NGOs to do a free health screening against malaria in the community of Senya Breku, in the Central Region of Ghana. During this screening, they found that 50% of the total patients examined had malaria – this is shocking and a lot more needs to be done to prevent the spread of it.
