Currently Ghana is suffering from an increasingly serious outbreak of Cholera with over 5300 recorded cases since September 2013 which is rising daily and carries a fatality rate of 1.5%. The illness is contracted by ingesting food and drink contaminated with human excrement and the concern is that this deadly illness is being overlooked due to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

In an attempt to help combat the growing problem TANF teamed up with other organizations to perform a clean-up exercise on 16th August,2014 in 4 communities, Gomoa Aboso, Gomoa Bemso, Gomoa Akroful and Gomoa Akrobong which are all found in the Central Region in Ghana. The hope being that by reducing rubbish and poor cleanliness in the 4 communities it may go some way in helping to reduce the rate of Cholera cases and inspire other communities to perform such exercises.
