At TANF Ghana, we believe that no child should be left behind—especially when it comes to health. Our latest health initiative focuses on one simple yet powerful goal: ensuring that every child under our care is protected by Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Access to healthcare is not just a basic human right—it’s a fundamental building block for a child’s future. Illnesses should never be the reason a child misses school or struggles academically. Unfortunately, many vulnerable families in rural Ghana cannot afford consistent access to medical care, making children more likely to suffer long-term consequences from treatable conditions.
To address this challenge, TANF Ghana has taken proactive steps by renewing NHIS cards for dozens of school children in our supported communities. With valid health insurance, these children can now access essential medical services without placing additional financial pressure on their families.
